Your Speed Limit

One of Germany’s much vaunted perks is the unlimited speed policy on many of its highways (at least in some parts of Germany).

Unlimited speed on highways is a metaphor I like using when I coach.

Setting oneself a speed limit in life or at work brings more safety, more control of events, allows to create boundaries. It can feel good.

Sometimes, however, our limits are set by our saboteur voices, our self-limiting beliefs: “I am too old to do this”, “There’s no way I am qualified for that job”.

When your self-limiting beliefs or fears set your limits, what are the things you are saying no to? What are you not achieving?

Now, imagine you set yourself no limit or you reject your self-limiting beliefs.

What becomes possible for you? With no constraint, what is your big goal? What would it feel like if your life or career was like driving on a German highway? How would you feel?

Think of one action you could take this week that would help you get in a no limit mode? Tell me in the comments what step you’ll take.
