04 Jul Leadership Is Not Just A Title
Leadership is not a title!
On that day where my American friends celebrate 4th of July, this great quote of George Washington reminds us that being a leader is not about holding a title.
Being a leader is about taking action to engage and inspire people to achieve great results.
Being a leader is about creating and nurturing a sense of shared cause and belonging in the team.
Being a leader is about offering a sense of strong values that people recognize themselves in and that pushes them to give their best.
This is about empowering the team and driving change through trust, strong communication, accountability, delegation, coaching, being curious, sharing the leadership.
This starts with you, the leader put in that leadership position, being aware of your strengths, values, and also your self-limiting beliefs. Once you understand all these, you know how you want to lead, and what authentic leader you will be for the benefit of others.
Leadership is not about self-esteem, hubris or power. Leadership is about integrity, supporting others to grow and elevate themselves, influencing and persuading people to achieve for the greater good of the team and organization.
