Exploring a Value Through a Peak Experience

A recent peak experience for me is when I reached the summit of Mont Blanc, at 4,810 meters on June 2, 2019. When I reflect on that peak moment in my life, what comes to mind is how daring I was. Daring to climb the tallest mountain in Western Europe; daring to go beyond my fear of height and summoning the courage to climb the mountain.

Daring is one of my most important values in life. When I connect to my value of daring, nothing is impossible. I know I can start any task, any project, or tackle any challenge, I will draw a lot of energy from that space where I am daring and I will achieve a lot. Will I succeed everytime? Of course not. But even if I fail, the feeling of having dared do something is very fulfilling and definitely creates a positive energy and mindset that I can use at work or in my life.

And for you, what is your peak moment in life? Who were you then? What is the value you have and that resonates with you when you relate back to that peak moment? How can you use that value at work to achieve your leadership potential?
